PETRONAS Twin Towers > 6KM

The Petronas Towers are also known as the Petronas Twin Towers (Malay: Menara Petronas, or Menara Berkembar Petronas). According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)'s official definition and ranking, they are the tallest twin towers in the world.

Suria KLCC is an upmarket retail centre at the feet of the Petronas Towers. It features mostly foreign luxury goods and high-street labels.

KLCC Park > 3KM

KLCC Park is a 50-acre garden set close to Suria KLCC shopping centre. Designed by Roberto Burle Marx, it was designed to provide a touch of greenery for the Petronas Twin Towers and the areas surrounding it. On the park grounds is a 10,000sqm manmade lake (Lake Symphony) with a 43m bridge that cuts across.

Unquestionably, Lake Symphony is the reason most people frequent the park; it has water fountains that can shoot water up to a height of 42m. These daily water shows occur at noon and in the evenings.

Perdana Botanical Gardens > 8KM

Perdana Botanical Gardens, better known by its old name "Lake Gardens", is the oldest and most popular park in Kuala Lumpur.

Roam through the aviaries at the Bird Park and Butterfly Park. Or take a stroll through the beautiful Deer Park and Orchid Garden, which are all reachable by foot. From the gardens, you can also visit other attractions such as the National Monument, the National Planetarium and the Islamic Museum.

Getting There: Perdana Botanical Gardens is 10 minutes away by cab. Make sure to get there early as it can be hot in the afternoon.

KL Bird Park > 8KM

The KL Bird Park is located in the serene and scenic Perdana Botanical Gardens, 10 minutes away from the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Home to more than 3,000 birds of 200 local and foreign bird species, the main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from other bird parks is the concept of free-flight. See Mandarin ducks, hawk eagles, hornbills, ostriches and more.

Getting There: By KTM Commuter Train, disembark at the KTM Old Railway Kuala Lumpur Station located near the National Mosque. KL Bird Park is just a 5-minute walk from the National Museum.

KL Butterfly Park > 7KM

Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park is a large public butterfly zoo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is a popular tourist attraction in the country. It is located adjacent to the Lake Gardens and Kuala Lumpur Bird Park.

This is the largest butterfly garden in the world spanning over 80,000 sq. ft. of landscaped garden with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns.

Getting There: KL Butterfly Park is just a 10-minute walk from the KL Bird Park.

National Zoo (Zoo Negara) > 10KM

Sprawled over 110 acres of land, Zoo Negara houses over 500 animal species. Explore the 'Seven Wonders' of the zoo which consist of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, fishes, insects and plants. 90% of the animals here are kept in spacious areas with landscaping that resembles their natural habitat.

Getting There: Take the LRT and stop at Wangsa Maju Station, Kelana Jaya Line. Board a taxi to Zoo Negara.

Petrosains Discovery Centre > 3KM

Petrosains Discovery Centre is a 7,000sqm interactive science discovery centre located on the fourth floor of the Petronas Twin Towers. Good for hours of fun, the spacious complex is largely dedicated to the field of petroleum science and presents science and technology in a fun and entertaining way.

Getting There: Walk to Petronas Twin Towers via the pedestrian bridge at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

KL Forest Eco Park > 6KM

Bukit Nanas near Kuala Lumpur Tower is one of the oldest permanent forest reserve in the country. It was gazetted in 1906 and was formerly known as Bukit Weld Forest Reserve. It covers an area of approximately 11 hectares and is the only remaining tropical rainforest in the heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur. Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve is the only remaining tropical rainforest that still stands tall in the middle of the city, it is one of the oldest forest reserves in the country. It is considered the 'Green Lung' of Kuala Lumpur.

National Planetarium > 8KM

The National Planetarium is situated on a hillock just outside the KL Lake Gardens. National Museum < 10KM

The National Museum was built after the independence of The Federation of Malaya in Aug 1957. Construction began in 1959 and the doors opened in August 1963. It houses and recounts Malaysia's rich culture and history.

Getting There: Located in Jalan Damansara, Muzium Negara is easily accessible via bus, taxi, and is near KL Sentral.

National Monument < 7KM

The National Monument was built to recognize and honour those who gave up their lives in the cause for peace and freedom, particularly during the nation's struggle against the threat of communism. It was sculpted in 1966 by Felix de Weldon, who was also the creator of the famous Iwo Jima monument in Washington DC.

There are seven bronze human figures atop an oblong base; each figure denoting one of seven qualities: courage, leadership, sacrifice, strength, suffering, unity and vigilance.

Getting There: The National Monument is located next to Lake Gardens and is right off Jalan Parlimen.

Petaling Street China Town > 6KM

The Petaling Street (Chinatown) in Kuala Lumpur is like the Bukit Bintang of the older part of Kuala Lumpur. Ask anyone who's been to Malaysia about Petaling Street and they will cite it as a shopper's haven, albeit different compared to the more glamourous, Bukit Bintang and KLCC.

Kampong Bharu may very well be the last standing village in the cosmopolitan city of Kuala Lumpur. Surrounded by the skyscrapers of the city, this village thrives as a living testament to Malaysia's beginnings, current development and its future.

Merdeka Square > 8KM

The Merdeka Square is located exactly opposite the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and right beside the Royal Selangor Club. This is the historical place where the Union Flag was lowered and the Malayan flag was raised for the very first time at the struck of midnight of 31st August 1957. From then on, Merdeka Square has been the venue for the annual Merdeka Parade.

Getting There:
By LRT (Rapid KL): Take the Sentul Timur line to Bandaraya or Masjid Jamek Station. From the station, it is a 10 minute walk.
By Taxi: It is a 10-minute ride from our hotel.

National Theatre (Istana Budaya) > 3KM

The Istana Budaya (literal meaning: The Palace of Culture), founded Malaysia's main venue for all types of theatre including musical theatre, operetta, classical concert and opera from local and international performances. It faces Jalan Tun Razak in the northern edge of Kuala Lumpur and is located next to the National Art Gallery (National Visual Arts Gallery).
